⚠️ FAILED SUSPENSION BUMP STOPS ⚠️
This is why regular suspension inspections are so important on your caravan or camper.
These photos show severely deteriorated polyurethane bump stops fitted to a Cruisemaster independent suspension system. The bump stops are designed to act as both:
✔️ A bottom-out cushion
✔️ A secondary spring rate under heavier loads
Cruisemaster uses premium proprietary-grade polyurethane in systems such as the XT Coil and ATX suspension setups, but over time factors such as:
🔹 Heavy loads
🔹 Constant corrugations
🔹 Age and UV exposure
🔹 Harsh off-road conditions
can all contribute to wear and eventual failure as seen in these photos.
When these bump stops break down, the suspension can no longer perform as designed, leading to:
❌ Reduced ride control
❌ Increased suspension stress
❌ Poor load handling
❌ Potential damage to shocks, chassis and other components
This caravan came in for a Caravan Safety Certificate and Caravan Gas Certificate inspection, where these suspension issues were identified during our checks.
